Global pollen counts by city: levels and allergies

This index covers the ten world cities tracked on this page. For each city, the by-region cards above carry the reading for today from whichever source is reporting; where neither source reports, the card says so instead of showing a zero. Cities carried by the rankings feed can appear in the rankings table above — cities with no rankings row are not ranked there.

Read as a pollen count by city, this page gives the world pollen count for each tracked city in one place — compare the pollen count worldwide before opening a single city page, and use each card for that city’s per-type detail.

  • Phoenix, United States. The Phoenix pollen count is the headline reading on the Phoenix card above: look there for the pollen count in Phoenix, today’s Phoenix pollen levels, and the per-type detail behind pollen in Phoenix. When a source is reporting, Phoenix pollen today is shown as the Total Pollen Index on that card; when neither source is reporting, the card states that there is no Phoenix pollen count to show today instead of a zero. For allergy planning, read those Phoenix pollen levels with the air-quality figure alongside them — pollen levels in Phoenix and Phoenix allergies are tracked on the readings published here each day.

How to read today’s global pollen

Pollen first: today’s global pollen levels for world cities — London, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney, Delhi, Cairo, Toronto and more — ranked by the same Total Pollen Index (0–100) used across Pollen Atlas, with per-type pollen detail and air quality alongside. Together, the rankings and cards are today’s worldwide pollen picture: international pollen levels from every tracked region, read on the same 0–100 index.

Three scales appear on this page, each under its own label and never combined: the Total Pollen Index (0–100) is Pollen Atlas’s modelled pollen risk index for cities in the rankings index — and where a city has no rankings row, that city’s card derives its index from Google pollen data instead and says so on the card; the Google Universal Pollen Index (UPI, 0–5) gives per-type detail on Google’s own scale; and the Universal AQI (Google) reports air quality with Google’s own category wording. A city neither source reports on shows “No pollen data available” rather than a zero.

Sources & method

The Pollen Atlas modelled index leads: for cities in the rankings index, the Total Pollen Index is the city’s published modelled pollen risk value — the same value its city page and the rankings publish. Where a city has no rankings row, the card falls back to Google: each type’s UPI (0–5) is scaled ×20 onto the 0–100 scale and the card’s index is the dominant (highest) type, labelled on the card as Google-derived. Where neither source reports data, the card says so instead of showing a zero. Google also supplements: per-type pollen detail on the Google Universal Pollen Index (UPI) scale and air quality on the Universal AQI (Google), each shown under its own label with Google’s category wording. The scales are different and are never combined into a single number.

Data is cached once per day per location, so the values above refresh daily. Data as of Friday, November 6, 2026. Global pollen levels shift as each region moves through its season, so this global pollen picture is recalculated every day.

The rankings table above, and any card labelled as the modelled pollen risk index, come from the Pollen Atlas rankings index: a modelled pollen risk index computed from open weather, vegetation and phenology data and calibrated against CDC/NAB season data — an index on a 0–100 scale, not measured station counts. Its methodology and source attributions are published with the city rankings.
